James Hancock hails from the UK and now splits time between there and Los Angeles. For over 25 years he has been an acclaimed music producer, ghost writer, remixer & DJ.
Known under different aliases throughout the years, he's produced music in genres from rave, drum and bass, garage and house music. With a catalogue of 170+ releases on major and independent labels and two gold-selling records, James continues producing a prolific amount of high quality dance music.
A unique musical adaptability and lifelong sheer love for dance music allows him to integrate his passion and share it with the world. James has DJ'ed at top clubs in the UK, Europe and beyond: legendary sets at Fantazia, Cream, Dreamscape and Raindance. Eden in Ibiza and Swerve at Mr. C's infamous The End nightclub. Sweaty nights and ringing ears at Fabric and Ministry Of Sound. 6 AM sunrise sets at Pacha and the Funktion1 sound system at the Womb Club in Tokyo. Then of course, festival appearances at Glastonbury, Lovebox and Latitude— too many memorable favourites.
Under his current moniker, Grace Bones, he amasses an impressive catalogue of music releasing on major house labels. Nervous, Dopewax, Stealth, Cube, and King Street, amongst others.
Radio is at the forefront of James' connection and inspiration in dance music. He's DJ'd on BBC radio 1 / 1xtra, Kiss FM, DASH FM, Sirius XM and co-hosted a drum and base show on Ministry of Sound radio. As Grace Bones, he presently hosts 'House of Chic Radio', a weekly FM radio show in London (Select 94.4 FM) and in Los Angeles (KCSB 91.9FM).
2022 was a banger of a year with two No.1 Latin/Afro house records on Kenny Dope's label,
Dopewax, and Italian label, Cube Recordings. The year also saw him release his first artist album under Grace Bones on Good For You Records. In 2023, he was invited to remix and curate a DJ mix album for Steve Silk Hurley's, S&S Records.
The energy and expansion continues. New albums and multiple signings underway, touring, a busy DJ schedule, and reveling in lifting this community. 2024 is another fantastic year.
